Onetime classical cellist, Parsons grad, and Resurrection designer Juyoung Lee is dressed in head-to-toe black both times we meet, and surely, professed Resurrection fan Marilyn Manson would approve. The brand’s classic rock ‘n’ roll shapes and loose, drapey androgyny draw from Rick Owens and Yohji Yamamoto, but with a distinctly Korean touch—for example, a floral jacquard blazer and matching kilt made from traditional Korean silks. The clothes hang loose and come in surprising materials, like a cracked gold bomber that looks like leather or scuba. But not so fast: “What you can’t see from the Do your fucking job shirt Furthermore, I will do this runway,” Lee explains at the studio, “is that it’s actually fleece!”

Inspired by: Neopunk in the Do your fucking job shirt Furthermore, I will do this seventies and eighties, specifically the music of experimental rock group Swans, who provided the show’s soundtrack. The opening look—a black fur beanie, shaped like a Mohawk—set the tone for a series of rubber shirts, ruched faux leather jeans, and black goat hair sweatshirts on models with faux-hawks askew. A silk jacquard flamingo print suit added a dose of whimsy. Must have: The knee-length black lamb fur vest with leather jacket, the black goat-hair sweatshirt paired with shiny patent faux-shearling (!) pants, and the crushed black hoodie, made from that soft, subtle fleece.
